There are many videos out there that showcase cinematic replays of Minecraft gameplay via multiple angles, moving cameras, timelapse shots, and much more. This makes many players wonder how it can be done. The answer is surprisingly simple.

Replay allows players to do a lot more than just record their Minecraft gameplay. While there are many screen recorders that can record gameplay, since this mod is baked into the game, it allows players to freely move the camera in third-person view, speed up or slow down the footage, as well as zoom in and out.

Replay also comes with a whole suite of different tools, such as position and time key-framing.

The position keyframe allows players to move the camera in whatever direction they want. The time keyframe allows them to select when the replay starts and when it ends. Combining these two features, along with others like speeding up gameplay, players can create brilliant videos.

Replay also has a host of rendering settings. It comes with important setting options that allow you to change the rendering method, the recorded format, the resolution of the video, and even the frame and bit rate. These features are certainly more powerful than what comes with a simple screen-recording tool.

Another great thing about this mod is that all the replays can be saved and accessed from the game menu. There’s no need to close or minimize the game and open another folder to access the video files.

Currently, there’s no word from the Replay developers about a compatible version for the Minecraft Tricky Trials update. Players will either have to wait until the new iteration is released or run an older version of the game and use the mod to record the replay.
