Wither is one of the deadliest mobs in Minecraft. Apart from Ender Dragon, which is the final boss mob of the game, the Wither is another boss mob players can fight. However, the most fascinating aspect of the beast is that it needs to be manually summoned by the players. Hence, the massive question frequently comes up in the community: is summoning Wither even worth it?
The answer to that is yes, especially because of what follows after one defeats the Wither.

Why summoning the Wither in Minecraft is worth the risk
Wither drops nether star that offers positive status effects
As mentioned above, Wither is one of the most difficult mobs to beat in Minecraft. A few might consider it tougher than beating the Ender Dragon itself. It is a three-headed wither skeleton boss mob that not only shoots explosive skulls towards players, but also other mobs except undead ones.
Once players fight and defeat the beast, they receive a nether star. For those unaware of the item, the nether star is extremely useful since it helps players create a beacon.
A beacon is a block that can offer various positive status effects in a radius of 20 to 50 blocks. The block is made up of five glass blocks, three obsidian blocks, and one nether star.
Once created, a beacon needs to be placed on a pyramid made up of a certain block of mineral, whether it is iron, diamond, gold, or netherite.
After a beacon in Minecraft is activated, it can offer several positive status effects like speed, haste, resistance, jump boost, and strength. In its second phase, it can either offer a regeneration effect with a previously mentioned effect or increase one of the previous four effects to the second level.
Hence, defeating a Wither boss mob provides one of the most useful items to strengthen a player in Minecraft.
When summoning the Wither boss mob is not worth the risk
It is safe to say that the Wither is an extremely dangerous mob. It requires endgame gear and lots of practice to beat without any near-death incidents.
However, players can get all the required blocks to summon the beast relatively early in the game. When exploring the Nether, they can fight wither skeletons in Nether Fortresses to get their skulls, and also obtain soul sand from Soul Sand Valley.
Wither skulls and soul sand can then be used to summon the Wither mob. However, if the player does not have ample food items, top-end gear, and weapons, fighting the Wither will not be worth it since they could die multiple times.
