Minecraft is preparing for the upcoming Tricky Trials update and the developers at Mojang Studios are working tirelessly to make changes, tweak the existing features, and ensure that the final update is in the best state possible. The developers recently released Minecraft 1.21 Pre-Release 4, which brought substantial changes to the enchantment effects of fire protection and blast resistance.
Here’s everything about the changes and how they translate to the gameplay experience.

Minecraft 1.21 Pre-Release 4 made some interesting changes to the blast resistance and fire protection enchantments in the game. For those who are unaware, blast resistance enchantment reduces the impact players take from a blast, while fire protection enchantment lowers the damage dealt when players are set on fire.
Both enchantments are quite useful and very powerful. Pre-Release 4 makes the effect of these enchantments stackable, meaning each piece of gear with these enchantments will add to the effect, making them stronger.
This does not mean that these enchantment effects have been tweaked to be stronger. The effect of wearing fully enchanted armor (for both fire protection and blast protection) is still the same as 1.20.6, but the effect strength of wearing a single armor piece with these enchantments has been reduced.
It's also worth noting that the knockback resistance effect of the blast protection in Minecraft has been tweaked. These changes will make the game more challenging, as players must have the full armor enchanted with the same effect to get the maximum benefit.
Another change that came with the Pre-Release is that a Primed TNT can't destroy Nether portal blocks after it has gone through a Nether portal.
Pre-Release 4 also brings some major bug fixes such as wind charges not working to negate fall damage even after being used properly and wind bursts causing damage to players twice even with a single use. The update will iron out all the bugs and errors before the final update is released.
Coming to the final update, the Minecraft 1.21 update is set to bring a ton of new items and mobs to the game such as the bogged, the Breeze, and the trial chambers that house the two new mobs. There’s the vault and the trial key with rare loot inside. The Tricky Trials update will drop on June 13, 2024.
