Minecraft's anniversary celebration coming to an end
Minecraft's massive 15th anniversary event started on May 15, 2024, and is scheduled to last till May 29, 2024. This 15-day promotion was filled with a ton of exciting news and rewards. Mojang Studios gave away the much-awaited creeper cape, one of the most talked-about rewards.
But that's not all. There were many others, such as the TikTok cape, the Twitch cape, the glitch mask, emotes and badges for Twitch, and much more. Not just digital items, but the collaboration between Mojang Studios and other companies brought along some exclusive physical items as well.
Keyboard-maker Higround released some special Minecraft-themed keyboards and desk mats, while Pringles announced a special TNT flavor only for the US market. Mojang Studios also released a 15th anniversary clothing collection that is also available for a limited time.
Even Google got into the celebration by adding a special Easter Egg on its search result page for "Minecraft." The Easter Egg turned the search result page into the game, allowing players to "break" some parts of the page to reveal the blocks under it.
Apart from these things, Mojang Studios also gave out a free Realms map for Java and a special 15th-anniversary world map for Bedrock that players can use to explore and find out more about the game's history.
But the most exciting part may come at the end. Mojang Studios may reveal the release date for the massive Minecraft 1.21 update on the last day, which would be the best way to end the anniversary celebration.
