Minecraft 2024 cape collection: Every cape released this year

There was a time when Minecraft capes were considered extremely rare and valuable skin customizations. Now, however, Mojang Studios has made them quite common, to a point where almost every player has at least one of them on their account. In 2024, there were a total of six capes that were released for Minecraft Bedrock and Java.

Here is a list of all these six Minecraft capes released in 2024.

1) Follower's cape

The Follower's cape is one of the first that was released this year. Since Minecraft was celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024, Mojang hosted a 15-day event where it gave away loads of goodies to its player base, including the new cape. This was in collaboration with TikTok.

Players were able to receive it if they watched a content creator's Minecraft live stream and typed the name of the game in the live comments. After a while, they received a redeemable code from the TikTok app, which could be fed into Minecraft's official redeem website to get the cape on a particular game account.

Since it was in collaboration with TikTok, the cape itself had a magenta and cyan color with a black background, similar to TikTok's logo. The middle portion had a white creeper face.

2) Purple Heart cape

Similar to the TikTok cape, the Purple Heart cape was in collaboration with Twitch, another video streaming platform, on which, many gamers play Minecraft. This was also a part of Minecraft's 15th anniversary event.

To get the cape, players were required to watch at least 15 minutes of any Twitch live stream on which Minecraft was being played and drops were active. After watching the stream for 15 minutes, viewers received a redeemable code that could be fed to the redeem website. This way, players were able to get the Purple Heart cape.

3) 15th Anniversary cape

To further celebrate the game's 15th anniversary, Mojang simply gave away one of the most iconic-looking capes for free to every player who visited the official website between May 17 and June 21. This was the creeper cape that had different shades of green with a classic creeper face on it.

It was simply named the 15th Anniversary Cape.

4) MCC 15th Year cape

Mojang continued to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their game through a special Bedrock Edition server event in collaboration with the Minecraft Championship (MCC). Players were able to join the special server hosted by the game developers and explore a custom-built world filled with minigames that MCC hosted for several years.

Players were awarded a special MCC cape that had a golden crown and the number 15 written on it. It was given to those who completed 15 challenges in the event server. The cape was for both Bedrock and Java Editions.

5) MC Experience Cape

The Experience cape was the only one that was somewhat rare since not every player was able to obtain it. It was particularly given to those who attended the Minecraft Experience: Village Rescue interactive event in Dallas, Texas. After entering the area by showing their ticket, they were sent an email,l in which a redemption code allowed them to claim the special cape.

Since the interactive event was related to a village rescue, the cape had the face of a zombie villager on one half and a regular villager on the other.

6) Mojang Office cape

The Mojang Office cape was the last one released during their special Eerie Office Party event. This event was mainly held in a special Bedrock Edition server, where all players could take a tour of a fictional version of the game developer's office.

It was awarded to those who completed all five daily challenges in the event.

Before its official announcement, it was leaked and was called the Eyeblossom cape, because of the eyeblossom flowers designed on it. It was quite fitting since the entire event was to further promote Minecraft's The Garden Awakens Drop.
