The Pale Garden biome and the Creaking mob are the two main components of the upcoming The Garden Awakens Drop. They were the first to be disclosed by Mojang in September 2024 and the first to be made available in the game's snapshot and beta/preview versions.

The Creaking, a special hostile mob that appears in the new biome at night, will pursue the player. This implies that it will approach and assault a player as soon as it leaves their screen.

Another unique feature of the Creaking is that it cannot be killed by direct melee or ranged attacks. This is because its heart is essentially a block that lies outside its body in one of the pale oak trees. Hence, it will keep tanking damage if hit directly. Players will need to destroy that block to kill the new mob.

The Pale Garden biome is the next major feature in the Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50 update. It is an eerie Overworld region filled with pale oak trees. These new trees look similar to dark oak trees but are completely desaturated in color. As soon as players enter the Pale Garden, all other ambient sounds will disappear and they will only hear occasional wood creaking noises, enhancing the eerieness of the place. Even the sky turns gray when players enter the spooky area.

The biome does not pose any threat during the day, but regular hostile mobs, including the Creaking, spawn at night, making it a tricky region to explore.

New building blocks

New building blocks will also be arriving with the upcoming update. Players will have access to a brand-new wood type since Pale Garden generates fresh pale oak trees. This wood set will be completely white in color, with the exception of log blocks with a dark bark. They can be used as building blocks and have the same set of variants just like any other wood set.

Additionally, the biome introduces a new material known as resin. When the Creaking mob is directly hit several times, its heart block will release resin droplets onto the nearby pale oak logs.

These resin depositions can be mined to get resin clumps. It can then be smelted into resin bricks and crafted into different building blocks. These blocks will be bright orange and have a different texture, giving players a brand new kind of building block to try.

Resin bricks, which are produced by smelting resin clumps, can also be used to color armor trim designs. Any armor trim that players want to apply to one of the armor pieces can be painted orange with resin bricks.

Keep inventory active on easy and peaceful game modes

Besides all the new features introduced in the Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50 update, Mojang will bring a major change to inventory mechanics in easy and peaceful game modes in Bedrock Edition specifically. In regular survival mode, whenever a player dies from any calamity, they lose every item from their inventory, regardless of the difficulty level.

With Minecraft 1.21.50 update, players will now get to keep their inventories if they are playing in easy or peaceful game modes. This means despite dying, they will retain all their items.
