Minecraft Bedrock Edition recently received the hardcore game mode. Previously, this mode was exclusive to Java Edition but was added to the other edition with the Bundles of Bravery game drop. This was a massive step in bringing both editions closer since hardcore is a highly popular game mode, where players only get one life to survive on.

However, an argument can be made that players might not have the best experience playing hardcore mode in Minecraft Bedrock Edition, particularly because of the numerous bug issues that the edition is plagued with.

Reasons why players might not have a good experience in Minecraft Bedrock Edition hardcore mode

Bedrock Edition is famous for the amount of bugs it has

When Mojang confirmed that Minecraft Bedrock Edition would receive the beloved hardcore mode, many players were concerned that its addition could be a problem since the game was not robust enough.

This concern was due to the presence of bugs — which Bedrock is notoriously famous for — that have resulted in bizarre damage and death to a lot of players. Since players will only have one life in the Minecraft hardcore mode, bugs would most definitely ruin their experience.

There are simply too many bugs in Bedrock Edition that can result in players dying through no fault of their own. They can also take lots of damage from an inexplicable source which can also be dangerous in hardcore mode. These glitches would be deeply unsatisfying for any player.

One of the more severe issues, for instance, causes players of Bedrock to suffer suffocation or fall damage while they are normally roaming around. Players are killed without any explanation for the damage they received. To put it mildly, it would be extremely frustrating for players to die in this manner after spending hundreds of hours in their hardcore worlds.

There have been countless posts on various social media platforms showcasing unexplainable deaths in the game, so much so that bugs in Bedrock Edition have become a running joke in the community.

Hence, Mojang should prioritize fixing the death bugs in Bedrock Edition to make the recently added hardcore mode a more attractive feature.

How to activate hardcore mode in Minecraft Bedrock Edition

Players must first update their game using the store app from the device on which they downloaded the game. Next, launch the game and select "Create a new world" from the menu.

They will discover a hardcore mode toggle in the general settings, which can be turned on. Subsequently, the hardcore heart symbol will become red and a red border will surround the world preview image, alerting players to the potential difficulty of the game in this mode.
