Minecraft Bedrock players can claim another free map

Minecraft's 15th-anniversary event may be coming to a close, but Mojang has surprised a few players by releasing another free map that can be downloaded via the Bedrock Edition Marketplace, and it comes with its own building contest to boot. In partnership with The Nature Conservancy, the Monument Challenge map tasks players with creating a beautiful and memorable monument.

Using the map and the resources it provides, Minecraft players are asked to create their monument with a theme surrounding the beauty and diversity of one of the game's mobs or plants. Players can record a video of their build and upload it publically to platforms like X, TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube with the hashtag #MinecraftMonument to secure their entry into the contest.

If a player wins, their build will be featured in the Minecraft National Park that was constructed alongside The Nature Conservancy, where it will remain as part of the map for good.

How to download the Monument Challenge map for Minecraft Bedrock Edition

If you can't wait to get your hands on this Minecraft map and build your monument for the contest, all you'll need is a Microsoft account and a legally purchased copy of Bedrock Edition on a Windows PC, an Android/iOS mobile device, or on your console of choice.

Once you've met those two requirements, you can download the map with the following steps:

1. Open your copy of Bedrock Edition and select the marketplace from the main menu, signing in if prompted.
2. The Monument Challenge map should be on the front page of the marketplace. Click on it to open its store page. However, if it doesn't appear on the front page, you can enter "Monument Challenge" in the search field in the top right of the marketplace and open the store page from there.
3. To the right of the store page, click on the "Free" button to redeem the map. The "Free" button will then become a "Download" button that you can tap to download it to your device.
4. Lastly, if you'd like to dive into the map right away, click on the newly-appeared "Create this World!" button to immediately create the map and enjoy it to the fullest.

That's all there is to it! Keep in mind that this map is only available for Bedrock Edition. Fans who hope to enter the monument challenge itself should note that it begins on May 28, 2024, at 12 am Pacific Time and will end on June 27, 2024, at 11:59 pm Pacific Time.
