Players were eagerly waiting for the Minecraft.21.10 beta and preview as it was set to bring a lot of improvement to the newly added features in the game. However, fans got a bit of a surprise when the 1.21.20 beta and preview was released instead.

In the official release note on the title's website, Mojang stated that its decision to skip 1.21.10 was that they wanted to focus on quality and stability improvements. The developer did not give any other reasons for skipping the previous update. Here are its exact words on the matter:

"After careful consideration, we have decided that we will be skipping the 1.21.10 update. Instead, we will focus on 1.21.20 to prioritize more quality and stability improvements."

The 1.21.20 update improves upon a lot of things in Minecraft, notably banners. The preview has mirrored the back side of the Skull, Guster, and Flow banner textures. Apart from that, the quartz slab’s texture has been improved.

The preview also brings a lot of improvements to the gameplay, especially to the new content added with the Tricky Trials update. An issue, which prevented the trial spawner from ejecting loot in older worlds, has been fixed. Another change is that mobs that are spawned by the Ominous Trial Spawners will now drop the items they picked up.

Apart from these alterations, the preview also improves the features of Realms, tweaks the sound in the game, and makes the user interface more intuitive.

With the beta and preview for 1.21.20, it is clear that Mojang has updated and improved some of the features introduced with the Minecraft 1.21 update.
