Minecraft mods are one of the best features in Java Edition. Players can create and add new content, such as mobs, features, systems, items, and dimensions, to the game, essentially meaning that the game has infinite replay value. One of the most interesting among these mods is Digimobs, which, as the name suggests, aims to add Digimon to Mojang's blocky masterpiece.

Everything you need to know about the Digimobs mod can be found in detail below. This includes both how to install the mod as well as an overview of its features.

As previously mentioned, the Digimobs mod aims to bring Digimon to a survival world. Right as you load in, you'll be prompted to select an initial partner. However, you can also answer a series of questions to have a suitable partner selected for you. After this, there will be a few quests to teach you the controls.

Once done, you're free to wander around and explore. There will be hundreds of Digimon to find and collect throughout Minecraft's Nether, End, and Overworld dimensions. You can also digivolve your Digimon during fights, making them even more powerful.

One of the most interesting parts about the Digimobs mod is that it gives you two different visual styles to pick from. The first is having each of the more than 700 Digimon added to the game rendered using beautiful custom 3D models. However, you can also have each Digimon rendered using 2D pixel art. Having this option is amazing and allows for the mod to feel more personalized.

How to install the Digimobs mod

1) Open CurseForge

The first step when installing the Digimobs mod is to open up the CurseForge alternate Minecraft launcher. Digimobs isn't officially hosted on Modrinth, meaning players won't be able to use it for this mod. This does mean any alternate launcher that pulls mods from CurseForge can be used instead, such as Prism Launcher or ATLauncher.

2) Search for "Digimobs"

Once you've got a modded launcher open, use the included search bar to find the "Digimobs" Minecraft mod. CurseForge's search bar is located at the top of the screen. The official Digimobs mod should be the first result of the search.

3) Create or add to a profile

After finding Digimobs, you'll want to hit the orange "Install" button next to it. You'll then be prompted to add the mod to an existing Minecraft modpack or create a new profile for it. Which option you use will depend on your setup. This example is making a new profile title, "Digimobs."

4) Add extra content

While the game should be ready to go, there's an optional step to take care of first. CurseForge also lists datapacks and Minecraft resource packs available for download. Take some time to scroll through the list to see if any would be a good match.

5) Play the game

The game should officially be ready to play. All you need to do from here is return to the profile's main menu and hit the "Play" button. This will launch the modded game. Make a new Minecraft survival world and wander around for a bit. It should be easy to see if the mod is working properly, as there should be Digimon wandering around the Overworld.
