The first step is to acquire the Dev Hat, essential for completing the challenge. In the middle of the lobby, you’ll find two traders ready to trade with you. The Dev Hat can be purchased for 600 coins. If you don’t already have the required coins, you can earn them by playing mini-games available at the Minecraft event.

These games not only help you collect coins but also provide a great way to have fun while prepping for the challenge. Once you have the Dev Hat, equip it to proceed.

How to play Bug Squash

The Bug Squash mini-game is where the real action begins. In this game, you spawn on a black rounded platform and have 60 seconds to rack up as many points as possible. Bugs appear on 3×3 pillars of varying heights. When a bug is present, the pillar’s colors change to red and black, while unoccupied pillars are green and white.

Timing is key — if a bug is not squashed in time, it burrows back into the pillar and despawns. Falling off the pillars results in a five-second penalty, and you’ll respawn at the black platform. Precision and quick reflexes are essential to squash the bugs efficiently.

Use the Dev Hammer to smash the bugs. Move quickly between pillars and aim for the high-value yellow and green bugs to maximize your score.

Completing this challenge brings you one step closer to earning the Eyeblossom Cape in Minecraft Bedrock Edition, the final reward for finishing all five daily challenges. Just one more challenge to go to collect all the rewards.
