Minecraft enchantments that might work against you

Enchantments are special powerups in Minecraft that help players in various ways. They can be applied to tools, armor, and weapons and have a plethora of uses. While some enchantments can increase the durability of a gear, others can increase mining speed and attack damage. That said, even some positive enchantments can have a slightly negative effect on players.

Here are a few Minecraft enchantments that might work against players on certain occasions.

Frost Walker is a treasure enchantment that can only be applied to boots. This powerup allows players to temporarily turn water blocks into ice whenever they are near one, enabling them to walk on water. After a while, the ice blocks will start to break and completely shatter. The game reads a player's movement to create new ice blocks around them.

This can be slightly annoying in certain situations. For example, if players want to take a swim or row a boat on a water body, they will have to wait for the ice to crack, or even remove the frost walker enchanted boots altogether.

The enchantment can also affect farms that consist of water blocks and also disallow players from using a trident with the riptide enchantment. A trident with this enchantment lets players fly with the weapon while they throw it while in a water body.

Luck of the sea

Luck of the sea is a fishing rod-exclusive enchantment that increases the chances of getting treasure items while fishing. Players can get rare items like name tags, enchanted books, and so on. However, they might not always want to grind for these items.

Minecraft is considered a peaceful and relaxing game, and sometimes players might just want to sit back and engage in a normal fishing session where they catch raw cod or salmon along with the occasional puffer fish. Unfortunately, if they have a higher luck of the sea enchantment level on their fishing rod, they will not be able to catch a lot of fish.

While this is a minor issue with the enchantment, it can bug a few players.

Wind burst

Wind burst is another special treasure enchantment that can be applied to the mace weapon. As the name suggests, this enchantment allows players to perform an attack with the mace, while a wind charge thrusts them up in the air. This does extra damage to surrounding mobs.

However, this enchantment can be quite dangerous if players are unable to find another mob to target while in the air, or quickly use a water bucket. Once players are launched in the air from the wind charge effect, they will take fall damage if they fall directly on a solid block.

Hence, players will have to practice and use the wind burst enchantment on the mace during special instances so that they do not take any fall damage. They can receive major fall damage after being launched several blocks in the air, making the enchantment detrimental during dangerous situations.
