Minecraft players are always stretching their creative muscles, trying to come up with work-around methods to bridge the gap between the Java and Bedrock editions of the game. One of the differences between the two is how snowy trees appear. In the Minecraft Bedrock Edition, trees turn white when there is a snowstorm. This is not the case with the Minecraft Java Edition.
A Minecraft player and Redditor named Cowalla1 shared an image on the game's subreddit showing how the newly added Pale Oak leaves and snow can be combined to make snowy trees. The image shows a spruce tree with added Pale Oak leaves and some snow on top. This makes the tree look like a completely new tree.
Reacting to this build idea, u/MiniPaleontologist said that it's an awesome idea. u/FusionCA also found it cool and asked the original poster to share this idea on the subreddit r/detailcraft.

u/ConsistentAd9840 joked that they are laughing in Bedrock Edition, referring to how the Bedrock Edition already has snowy leaves while Java Edition does not. u/Verbindungsfehle said that while that is true, players cannot control the appearance and it's bound to biome. u/Hacker1MC asked to just let Java players have this.
It seemed that many players were not aware that snowy trees were a feature exclusive to the Bedrock Edition. u/Bbunnbro asked whether all trees turn to snow when there’s snow on top. The original poster replied that it’s only a Bedrock feature. The only reason they made this post was because it does not happen by default in the Java Edition.
New features coming to Minecraft
The Pale Oak tree is an upcoming feature that is currently available as an experimental feature. This means that the developers are constantly tweaking these features and making them better. Apart from the tree, the game is also getting a new mob called the Creaking, and a new biome called the Pale Garden.
As the name suggests, the Pale Garden has a desaturated appearance that looks close to snowy biomes. So, Java players can use the tree to create the snowy tree effect. Perhaps Mojang Studios will add snowy trees to the Java Edition. The final release date of these features has not been confirmed yet.
