Minecraft fans have some interesting ideas for new ores and minerals

Minecraft has a ton of different items, from building blocks such as wood and stone to complication blocks such as Redstone and pistons that can be used to make complex machines and even computers. However, minerals and ores in the game, play a crucial role in making it fun and interesting. There are diamond, iron, and gold ores, and even newly added netherite ores. That said, as it is with anything good, there could always be more.

With the same sentiment, a Minecraft player and Reddit user named TheKingofStupidness posed a question to the subreddit of the game. The user asked what new ore would other players want to add to Minecraft. They also mentioned whether people would want something stronger than netherite or something like the copper block that has only a couple of uses.

u/AngelDGr said that they would love a block related to the End dimension but they are certain Mojang Studios would never just copy-paste the netherite block and call it “Enderite.” They also mentioned that the new block should rather be an alternative to the netherite as mining netherite is a big headache.

u/DarKnight_849 suggested that this new ore should rather serve as an upgrade for all the things that do not have a netherite upgrade. These include the trident, shield, crossbow, bow, elytra, the newly added mace, and so on.

u/The_Mad_Hatter_X said that Mojang Studios should bring back rubies as they had done in one of the previous snapshots but then changed it to emeralds. Gemstones would be great for making rings and jewelry.

User Aggrevating_Cup2306 said that having gemstones in Minecraft would be a great idea as they can work as mythical items with special abilities that can amplify some activities such as mining. These gemstones can also be incorporated into weapons to give them special abilities, sort of like enchantments but in a different way.

u/blloop said that Mojang Studios should add Jade which can only be used to make statues. u/Wumba_Chumba1246 said that it can also be used for armor trims. Players would also need to refine the jade using some process to keep it balanced. u/Ghost3603 said that there is a mod called Sully’s Mod that adds jade to the game which can reflect projectiles.

With the release of the Tricky Trials update, Mojang Studios added some new items to the game, including the powerful mace weapon. This item can be made using the heavy core block and the breeze rod, two more new items. New weapons and items that add fresh gameplay mechanics are the updates that substantially add something to the game. Perhaps the next update could focus on improving the End dimension.
