The much-awaited teaser trailer for the upcoming Minecraft movie is finally out and the entire game’s community is abuzz with discussions, reactions, and expectations. The trailer has rekindled interest in the game worldwide. Considering how people have built so many unique things inside Minecraft, it was expected that someone would recreate the trailer scene-by-scene in the game.
A Minecraft player and Reddit user named ChanceEffective6062 shared the trailer video on the game's subreddit and it shows an interesting mix of in-game shots as well as scenes made using various blocks from the game. It shows the different cast members, mobs, and everything else that was also shown in the teaser trailer.
Reacting to the video, user u/RonzulaGD said that they feel this video is better than the actual trailer. The original poster replied to the comment saying after watching their own video, they realized how many mistakes there are, making it even funnier. A lot of fans were unhappy with how the official movie trailer looks.

User u/chilimancer said that this in-game trailer looks way better than the original trailer, which looks more like an SNL skit. Another user, u/Sara_askeloph, said that Warner Bros, who are producing the movie, should have made it with in-game assets, added shaders to them, and used a better rendering or animation engine. According to the Redditor, this would have been better than what the company had made.

It seemed like most of the discussion was more about bashing the movie and less about complimenting the original poster. User u/bucaki had an interesting take, stating the game-made trailer was way better than what Warner Bros came up with. They also mentioned how players who know the game do not have any influence on the movie.
Many fans are not happy with how everything about the movie is turning out. Perhaps the biggest complaint about it is how mobs have a bizarre, realistic look to them. But since only a few months remain for the release, it seems highly unlikely that Warner Bros will be doing anything to change it.

User u/DeathByUnKnown1 said that the trailer shared on the subreddit looks like the roleplay series from something like AviatorGaming. They further explained how they remember certain points from that series. The original poster replied saying that was the point of this trailer, to make everyone feel the essence of those days.
Fans are not happy with the look of Minecraft movie

Minecraft fans have waited for many years for a feature-length movie based on the game. And when the leaks started appearing, disappointment took over as nobody liked how the mobs looked. People also did not like Jack Black’s portrayal of Steve mostly because of how weak his costume design and appearance were.
While Steve in the game is seen with the iconic goatee beard and short hair, the trailer shows Black with long hair and a very long salt-and-pepper beard that does not even remotely look like Steve's appearance from the game. The movie will be released in the US on April 4, 2025.
