Minecraft fans share ideas for new creeper textures

Out of all the Minecraft mobs, the creeper is perhaps the most recognized due to its memorable color scheme. It is even the icon for Minecraft Launcher. But, let's imagine a scenario where Mojang Studios decides to change the texture of the creeper. What would the new creeper texture look like? Well, players of the game have some ideas.

Minecraft player and Reddit user Able_Health744 shared an image of three different creepers from three different Mojang Studios games and asked the community how they would change the creeper’s texture if they had the opportunity.

A user by the name of Rabbulion commented that they would make it match how the modern oak leaves or modern grass blocks look as they were originally made to look just like that.

User DEGRUNGEON replied saying that they have a personal resource pack that does the same thing and makes the creeper blend with the environment well.

User 2Stripez recommended that the developers should make it match different biomes.

Just like DEGRUNGEON, user Mr_JeloMan commented that they have the Creeper Overhaul mod activated which adds new types of creepers that blend better with the surroundings. This mod is a great option for people who want to make the game more challenging.

Another user by the name of Dascy_ commented that the current texture of the creeper is good enough to make it blend well in green surroundings and how they got jumpscared by it.

User Jugatsumikka added a very interesting point. They said that creepers should not only get new texture packs but something even better. The texture of the creeper should be a heat gradient that changes according to the biome they are in. So the creeper can be bluish in colder regions while beige in sandy deserts.

This is an interesting take that mod developers can pick and make something similar. The gradient nature of the creeper will make the mob more dynamic and challenging at the same time. Perhaps in the future updates we might get to see something along the lines added to the game.

A question that often comes to the surface is whether Mojang Studios would consider changing the texture of their established mobs such as the creeper or the zombie. This is very unlikely as it would be too big of a change. In a best-case scenario, they might update the texture slightly to make it look modern.

So if players want to give the game a different look, mods and texture packs are the only available options at the moment. Minecraft Marketplace has some great textures and resource packs that completely change how the mobs look.
