The best way to grow big trees in Minecraft is by using the glass method or by placing blocks to force vertical growth. Both methods work on most saplings.

Before we proceed, it is important to explain that big trees do not just mean large or tall trees. They are a tree type that can also exhibit these features by being dense or wider than usual.

With that in mind, it is time to dive into the two methods to grow big trees in Minecraft.

Using glass block

To grow big trees using a glass block, you will need the following resources:

  • Two glass blocks
  • Sapling of your choice
  • Bonemeal (optional)

Once you have acquired the materials, here's how you can use glass to grow big trees in the game:

1) Plant the sapling

Place the sapling in a grass or dirt block to ensure that the surrounding area is clear and not cluttered. This will allow the tree to grow without being stunted by obstacles.

2) Place the glass blocks

Place two glass blocks in a diagonal corner of the sapling. You can choose any of the four sides to place the glass blocks, but make sure it's placed exactly one block away, diagonally.

3) Remove the lower glass block

Next, remove the glass block on the bottom so that the remaining glass block is floating diagonally to the sapling you planted. This ensures that the tree grows big. Now, you must wait for the tree to grow.

You can speed the process up using bonemeal.

4) Apply bonemeal (optional)

Instead of waiting for the tree to grow naturally over time, you can speed up the process using bonemeal. The amount of bonemeal to be used varies, but it is usually around six to eight servings.

Once done, you will notice that you have managed to grow big trees in Minecraft.

Another interesting way to grow big trees in Minecraft is by using vertical blocks on either side of the sapling.

Place the sapling on the clear ground and build four to five vertical blocks on either side. For this method, you can use any blocks of your choice, except for grass or dirt blocks.

Now, wait for the tree to grow naturally or boost its growth using bonemeal. Similar to the glass method, this can be achieved by six to eight servings of bonemeal. Once done, you will notice that the tree you have grown is much larger than others.

This is a rather easy method to grow big trees in Minecraft if you do not wish to spend time and effort crafting glass blocks.
