Enderman is arguably the most popular mob in Minecraft. It is a tall and dark figure with purple eyes and a mysterious language. Most interestingly, this is the only mob that spawns in all three dimensions: Overworld, Nether, and End. This means that Enderman's story, not officially told by Mojang, is connected through all three realms of the game.
Here could be the reason why Enderman exists in all three Minecraft realms.

The speculated reason why Enderman exists in every Minecraft dimension
The Minecraft world could have been present before the player
When players first enter the world of Minecraft, they will find various structures already built with various entities living in each of them. This clearly shows that the world the player enters has a history.
The villagers peacefully live in their villages and have an unknown history with Illagers since they look exactly the same. The guardians of ocean monuments have a special history of their own. Even abandoned structures like desert temples and Ancient Cities have valuable loot, hinting towards a race before players that could have stored this loot in chests.
After all these discoveries, we look at Enderman, the mysterious creature that might not be present in all these structures but is present in all three dimensions of the world.
Enderman could have been an ancient race of humans like the player's character
One of the widely accepted theories or speculations is that Enderman was previously an ancient race of people similar to the player's in-game character.
According to Game Theory's video titled The LOST History of Minecraft Enderman, it is believed that the ancient race of humans thrived in the Minecraft world and created various structures, hiding most of their valuable loot in them and protecting them with traps. This was because they were scared of various hostile mobs that posed a threat to them.
The fact that ruined portals exist tells that entities already entered the Nether realm. Since the Enderman is the only common mob in both Overworld and Nether, it can be strongly speculated that they created these portals.
Lastly, strongholds are found with an End portal that leads players to the End realm, which is filled with Enderman. Since they are once again the only common mob between the two realms, there is a strong possibility that they were once regular player-like characters and discovered the other two dimensions for the very first time.
