MineColonie is a relatively old Minecraft mod that came out in 2016. However, it arrived on the CurseForge website in 2022. It was made by Raycoms, who has created loads of other mods for the game.

With MineColonies, you can develop a prosperous town in Minecraft. You will be able to establish a new colony each time, adapt to any biome, and build beneath the ocean, on land, inside a mountain, or even in the sky.

MineColonies also adds special NPC workers to the game. This includes Composters, five different kinds of animal herders, Guards, Miners, Smelters, Bakers, Cooks, Couriers, Farmers, Fishers, Foresters, and many more.

Specialized structures like the Warehouse, House, Town Hall, Barracks, Library, University, and School are also included with the mod.

How to download and install the MineColonies mod for Minecraft

Before downloading MineColonies, it is worth mentioning you need four additional mods for it to work properly. The modder requests mods like Structurize, BlockUI, Domum Ornamentum, and Multi-Piston to be installed for MineColonies to work flawlessly. Fortunately, all these mods can be found and downloaded from the CurseForge website itself.

The first step is to get Forge API, a modding toolchain that allows the game to run the majority of the mods. Head to its official site and download Forge for 1.20.1. Then, the Forge API can be loaded through the downloaded installer.

The MineColonies mod itself can be downloaded from the website. You can simply search for the mod on the website and download the latest version of it. As of now, the mod (and support mods) is only compatible with the 1.20.1 game version. Hence, you must be mindful not to run it on the latest version.

Once all the mods are downloaded, they can be copy pasted into the mods folder in the main game directory located on the computer.

When you open the official launcher, you will notice a new modded 1.20.1 game version created after Forge's installation. After it opens, you will be able to see all the mods active and can start exploring MineColonies' features in a new world.
