Minecraft has been one of the most popular games for more than 15 years and counting, and despite getting countless updates over the years, the game is not devoid of bugs and errors, especially the Bedrock Edition. With the addition of new content every year, it seems natural that some bugs and errors will creep in. The interesting part is how players find these bugs as some of them could be so remote that it never comes across anyone’s gameplay.
A Minecraft player and Reddit user u/Spuder-anonimus shared a short video clip on the subreddit of the game showing how they managed to find a massive bug that would be extremely rare to encounter. The video shows the player placing some cobblestones, and a trap door, and putting water in the middle. A piston is placed on the side, along with TNT and Redstone block on top.
When the TNT is activated and the piston is moved using a button, the explosion breaks all the other surrounding blocks as expected. But it also creates a half-block of water suspended in the air. For those wondering if the whole thing was done underwater, it wasn’t. The original poster stated that they recorded it on their TV and hence, the poor quality of the video. Since it was recorded on a TV, it is possible that its the Bedrock Edition (console).

In fact, one of the most upvoted comments was by u/Striking-Reason5792 who said that they thought the whole thing was done underwater, only later to realize that it wasn’t. Another user u/Gh0st287 commented that they thought the same thing.
u/wojtekpolska found it weird how block updates do not fix water and asked if the glitched water still remains after saving and quitting the game. u/WhoWouldCareToAsk said that the original poster mentioned that it was a ghost block that disappeared after restarting the game. u/coladoir chimed in saying they find it weird how water cannot be destroyed by TNT and assume that the block state gets corrupted.
u/nicohero12 asked in amazement how the original poster managed to find such an obscure bug. u/anbu_ops1211 commented that this is what they were thinking. They said perhaps the
original poster was making a TNT airborne launcher but forgot the recipe and made this. Unfortunately, the original poster did not reply to the comments here.
Bugs in Minecraft
Minecraft has many bugs, especially the Bedrock Edition. There is a reason why it is infamously called “Bugrock” instead of Bedrock. While most of the bugs are usually not too serious, sometimes, they can seriously affect the gameplay experience. Recently, a user shared their bug experience with the game when their horse started spinning around without any apparent reason. Perhaps one day Mojang Studios would join the two versions of the game into one and get rid of the buggy state of the Bedrock Edition.
