With Minecraft being in the gaming industry for more than 15 years, one would expect the game to be free of bugs. But that is rarely the case. Minecraft is filled with bugs, especially the Bedrock Edition of the game. Thankfully, most of the bugs are minor and do not cause any major issues to the gameplay experience.
A Minecraft player and Reddit user named u/Jackack7 shared an image of an interesting bug. The image showed a tamed wolf with dark red skin color. However, from the post, it looked like the wolf was not tamed, as it seemed to be in attacking mode. The original poster asked the subreddit why the wolf was red.
Reddit user u/tripegle had an explanation to offer. According to them, this was an old bug that still hasn't been fixed. They also mentioned that the color overlay for the collar was being applied to the entire wolf’s texture. It turns out that this bug was first reported on the official bugs website in November 2020, almost four years ago. The website also mentions that the bug is unresolved as of now. The bug affects all different wolf variants in the game.

Perhaps the reason why the developers have not fixed the bug is because it is quite rare to encounter. Another user named u/DragonTheOneDZA commented that the color of the wolf has now become the color of its collar. This means that changing the collar color will change the color of the wolf, essentially giving it another color.
The original poster replied to this comment saying that they did try changing the color of the collar and now the wolf has turned black. Another user, u/BowtietheGreat mentioned how this ability was actually less of a bug and more of a function. User u/Shmarfle47 commented that they wanted to see the pics of the black dog.
U/Oppositeadorable7142 commented that the dog behind the red dog also looked confused with the bug. Another user, u/Susdoggodoggy, mentioned how they loved the creepypasta.
U/Cinderblock-Consumer asked whether the glitch stayed after leaving and closing the game world. The original poster replied in the affirmative.
Minecraft can be very buggy
Minecraft's Bedrock Edition has a lot of bugs. In fact, it is infamously called ‘Bugrock’ because of this reason. Considering that the version has the Hardcore mode now, Mojang Studios needs to iron out bugs like dying caused by an error or a glitch. Perhaps the developers can ditch the two versions and combine both of them into one definitive edition.
