Minecraft has different biomes that have their own weather, mobs, and even specific challenges. While most of these regions are interesting, if we were to pick the most bland one, it would be the desert biome. It has a lot of potential to be among the more challenging biomes in the game but is "boring." It does have an exclusive zombie mob called the husk and the cactus plant, but that’s pretty much it. It sorely needs an update.

While it might take the developers at Mojang Studios months or even years to add something interesting to the deserts in Minecraft, it seems that fans have already started coming up with great concepts that Mojang Studios could use. A Minecraft player and Reddit user by the name of Max4005 shared a small video clip on this game's subreddit, showing a mod they had created to make the desert biome a bit more challenging and rewarding. The video shows deserts spawning "dust devils" that are spinning vortexes of wind that spit out different items.

Occasionally, these mobs will spit out some rare loot that is worth getting. However; getting too close to them will launch the player up in the air, causing some damage. These dust devils can spawn randomly and will die after some time, so the best thing to do would be to wait for it to spit out Minecraft loot items and die.

As per the concept, the dust devils also act as a great launch pad for players with elytra. These mobs — and even bigger, more dangerous versions of them — would make for exciting additions to the game as well as desert biomes. As such, the developers should consider adding them.

Another thing worth noting is that dust devils can also spawn in other biomes as well and can affect farmlands and other vegetation, according to the concept. For example, it can break tall grass, and sugarcane, and even destroy farmland.

But for now, all one can do is wait and hope Mojang Studios adds something not just to the desert biome but other biomes as well that make them more interesting and challenging to explore.
