In Minecraft, capes are among the most special items. Unlike other character-creator items, they cannot be traded or bought. They are given only on special occasions and have a lot of significance. A Minecraft player who goes by u/GuihermeAg17 on Reddit shared a couple of images on the subreddit of the game showing a concept for a new cape.
u/GuihermeAg17 called it the Hardcore cape that could be given to the players who complete a whopping 10,000 hours in the Hardcore mode.
The outer side of the cape shows a face with red tones while the backside features the image of two hearts, one with half health remaining.

Reacting to this concept, user u/12550821 wrote a detailed comment saying why it would be difficult for Mojang Studios to add a cape like this. They pointed out how it would be difficult for the developers to track how many hours a particular player is spending in their game without any bypass.
They also mentioned players can just turn on the game and go AFK to let the time pass. Since 10,000 hours is a lot of time, most of the players are likely to not bother getting it.
Given that the Bedrock Edition is also getting the Hardcore mode in the upcoming Bundles of Bravery update, players will not feel left out if Mojang Studios decides to go with something similar.
Another user named u/Ramin11 noted that it is quite easy to edit the files and change the number of hours played. They also added how capes cannot be tied to achievements as they are given for special contributions, and Microsoft has been too liberal in handing out capes, making them less special.
User u/Uneaqualty65 said that they liked the design of the cape and that they wanted it. However, they felt that 10,000 hours was unreasonable. Another user named u/tornedron_ said that even though they like the concept, they would prefer lower numbers of days, stating how 365 days would be a much better option.
