Although Minecraft has many different items and features, the developers continue to add new ones, ensuring things remain fresh. Aside from developer Mojang Studios, players also come up with their own concepts and ideas. A Minecraft player and Reddit user named u/lance_the_fatass came up with a creative way to give echo shards more utility by introducing the echo chamber and echo locator. Here’s how the two concept items would work:
The echo chamber allows instant teleportation between multiple chambers within the same dimension. Players can color-code chambers using dyes, while commands can restrict teleportation to chambers of the same color, making them ideal for adventure maps.
This mechanic reduces tedious backtracking while allowing exploration of ancient cities to gather echo shards, adding a layer of strategic planning in the gameplay instead of walking around aimlessly.

The echo locator would be a tool that lets players access the echo chamber network from anywhere while using durability as a trade-off. The concept focuses on resource management and exploration while enhancing gameplay with faster travel options.
Reacting to this idea, user u/Middle-Researcher233 said that they would love this concept to be implemented in the game and that it reminded them of waystones.
The original poster replied, saying they got the idea from pylons in Terraria before finding out about the waystones mod. However, since they were easy to obtain, the concept of echo chamber and echo locator came to their mind.
User u/Ccat50991 said these features and items were too good to be added by Mojang Studios. Another user named u/Crafterz_ commented that the same could have been said about ender chests and ender pearls that teleport players. They added that both these items were suggestions.
Meanwhile, user u/Charmender2007 said that the subreddit for Minecraft suggestions would be a great place to post this idea.
The Deep Dark in Minecraft was a great addition
The Ancient City and the Deep Dark are some of Minecraft's most thrilling and atmospheric locations, offering players a mix of danger, mystery, and high rewards. Found deep underground, the Deep Dark biome is a pitch-black cavern filled with sculk blocks that react to sound, adding an eerie layer of stealth gameplay.
Something that has always piqued the curiosity of players is the ancient city, a massive, ruined structure with plenty of loot. However, exploring this area is not as easy as it seems. The Warden is Minecraft's most challenging mob, summoned when players trigger sculk shriekers too many times.
The Deep Dark's unique mechanics – like sound-triggered threats and scarce light – create a sense of dread and suspense not found anywhere else in Minecraft. Yet, this danger makes exploration all the more rewarding. This is the kind of challenge players are looking for.
Considering the latest update has added the Pale Garden biome that forces gamers to strategize before navigating this area, it seems Mojang Studios is on the right path.
