Minecraft has a lot of mobs that players can interact with. There are hostile mobs that are constantly trying to kill players along with passive ones that are helpful. But of all the creatures in the game, the phantom has failed to create an impact on the gameplay experience.
A Minecraft player and Reddit user named u/GodsDoorways posted an image of the phantom mob on the game’s subreddit. The original poster asked an interesting question: how would the community rework the mob to make it more interesting and relevant? With so many replies and suggestions, it appears fans have not forgotten the phantom mob.
User u/MrCobalt313 said they would make the phantoms passive for the first few nights, just circling around the player and making noise to warn others. When the players do not sleep, the phantoms can start attacking them from an angle that makes it possible for a counterattack.

Another user named u/Several-Cake1954 added that Mojang Studios should make these mobs less relentless in the Bedrock Edition. Avoiding phantoms can be challenging, especially in Hardcore mode.
User u/barbadizzy said they also need a helmet enchantment that prevents the phantoms from attacking the player wearing it. Phantoms will attack players when they have not slept.
Another user, u/velofille, said that players can wear a carved pumpkin on their heads to avoid being attacked. User u/MrCobalt313 suggested the developers add craftable wool nightcaps for this.
User u/PizzaCop_ said that having phantoms is perfectly fine as long as there is an item that allows players to sleep without resetting their spawn location. Minecraft is a massive game with exploration as one of its key features, but phantoms tend to discourage players from exploring the world.
Another user named u/UpstairsBeach8575 said that all the developers at Mojang Studios have to do is make sleeping bags or hammocks that allow players to sleep without changing their spawn point.
Better updates for Minecraft
Mojang Studios has been working to improve the game's existing features. The developers improved minecarts in a snapshot by making them faster. This was sorely needed as minecarts were rendered useless otherwise. Having faster minecarts means they can be used for long-distance transport and travel.
With the upcoming Bundles of Bravery update, the game will be getting the much-awaited bundles, an item players have asked for years. The update also brings Hardcore mode to the Bedrock Edition, which is another welcome addition.
