Minecraft player shows how teleportation machines are useful in long-distance exploration

Minecraft seems like a simple, peaceful experience with a straightforward gameplay mechanic on the surface. Players need to collect resources and use them to make tools and weapons. They can grow crops as well as farm animals. And they occasionally have to fight dangerous mobs. But this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The title has a lot of hidden gameplay mechanics that many people are unaware of. From utilizing a bucket of water to avoid fall damage to using a rocket to fly around with an elytra, there's a lot one can do in this game.

Minecraft player and Reddit user Mithesh007 shared an interesting video on the title's subreddit that shows a teleportation machine. The player in this clip can be seen using a fishing rod and throwing the line on a pressure plate. Then, they drop an ender pearl in a pool of water beside the pressure plate. What happens next is quite interesting.

Despite traveling very far using a Nether portal, the user teleports to the original location using the fishing rod and the ender pearl in the water. While it might look baffling, there is an interesting mechanic that makes this possible.

This was certainly an interesting video, and the best part about it is that one does not need extensive building skills or Redstones to build the portal. All they need are ender pearls and a fishing rod, both of which are relatively easy to obtain.

A major flaw of the game has been traversal. While there are many extensions that add portals to the title, the vanilla game needs something that allows one to fast travel easily.

User CreeperTV_1 said that this build was amazing and asked how the portal teleports the player once the fishing rod is used. The original poster responded, saying that when they pull the fishing rod, it interacts with the pressure plate and turns off the trapdoor. This causes the ender pearl to interact with the door, enabling one to teleport.
