Minecraft player and Reddit user u/Outrageous_Pace4141 recently shared a short video on the game's subreddit. The clip shows an interesting way of using a bug to make an invisible water elevator. For those unaware, a water elevator uses soul sand under a column of water which then pushes the player upwards.

The video shows the OP placing some wood and a block of soul sand. They then add water to the build. Lastly, with the addition of powder snow, the water disappears, leaving an upstream of bubbles that can push the player up.

Reacting to the build, Redditor u/Dusklore claimed that it won't work in the Java Edition since it is a Bedrock bug. In the other edition, the powder snow gets instantly destroyed by the water.

Another Redditor u/steyn91 joked that this was a "certified bugrock moment," pointing out how the Bedrock edition is filled with bugs.

Meanwhile, user u/LanielDandoe was curious if the elevator would disappear if the structure were updated. To this, u/Janusofborg insisted that it won’t as they have made some of these elevators in their ocean base for more than a year. They are totally stable with the only problem being that they are harder to stay in than the water.

Redditor u/_HdDude_ asked if this would work on the Java Edition. To this, u/Howzieky said that even though they did not try it, they could tell that it would not work on that particular version of the game.

Minecraft Bedrock bugs used as features

Minecraft players often use the bugs in the Bedrock Edition to build complex structures and mechanisms that would not be possible in the Java Edition. These bugs are unintentional errors in the game code that players use to their advantage. Surprisingly, they can create some amazing structures with it.

Automated farms are a common example, where players use mechanics like block duplication or unconventional behavior in redstone circuits to gather resources without manual labor. These farms can generate hundreds of specific items within a few minutes.

However, not all bugs are helpful. As errors in the code occur, the developers at Mojang Studios push updates and fixes to correct them, sometimes rendering a particular trick or farm unusable.

On top of it, some bugs can unintentionally disrupt gameplay, causing crashes or unwanted interactions between game elements. Recently, a player shared a bug that made their pet horse spin for no reason.
