In Minecraft, players can either choose to fight dangerous mobs while surviving the night or just peacefully build brilliant structures. Over the years, many players have built impressive structures and machines in the game including complicated computers, large castles, and even fictional cities. These builds typically require enormous amounts of time and effort, but some players remain undeterred.

A Minecraft player and Reddit user named u/ _dan27_ shared some images on the game's subreddit showing how they built an Italian city inside the game. The build features buildings, pathways, sideways, and hundreds of houses all created by a single person.

The original poster also added some details about the build in a separate comment. They said it took 100+ hours over 6 months during which they also wrote their thesis. They further added that this project was, in fact, a part of their thesis about how video games can be effective in promoting cultural places. This makes the build even more impressive.

A user named u/Dippysteg also recognized the city as Ferrara and asked the original poster if there was a map to download. The original poster replied that the map could be downloaded from their Planet Minecraft account.

Redditor u/_solosolow_ mentioned that they live in Italy and can confirm the build's accuracy. u/BANANAPRO51 also recognized many parts of the build.

u/mrmojoer praised the build, and like u/Dippysteg, asked for the link to download the world. The original poster replied that they couldn't do so because of the subreddit’s rules, and reiterated that the free download link could be accessed from their Planet Minecraft account.

Redditor u/_ROMAX_ suggested that the original poster join the BuildTheEarth project in Minecraft. For those unaware, BuildTheEarth is an ongoing project where players are trying to build the entire Earth inside Minecraft, at a 1:1 scale.

This is not the first time someone has made something mind-blowing in Minecraft. Recently, another player spent three years building a giant Gothic castle inside the game. Interestingly, it was not just a hollow structure made to look good from the outside but well-constructed and decorated from the inside as well. Many other players have created complicated Redstone machines such as computers, games, and even a fully working Rubik's cube inside the game.
