The Minecraft Nether is the second-most visited dimension in the game and the only source for vital items, such as ancient debris and blaze rods. Drawing inspiration from people's darkest visions of an underworld, the Nether is not a place for leisurely strolls. A Minecraft player recently posted on the popular social website Reddit, claiming they came across a strange item. The item showcased was a fireball attack performed by the Ender Dragon boss mob.
In this article, we delve into the details of the mentioned Reddit post, uncovering the anomaly experienced by the player and exploring the reactions and theories that other Redditors have proposed.

The Nether is usually visited when players are searching for items that are generated there exclusively. While traveling across the dirt bridge they had created, Reddit user ballandoats23 came across a dragon fireball, an attack performed by the infamous ruler of the End dimension, the Ender Dragon.
Being an unattainable item and an Ender Dragon attack, the dragon fireball has no business being present in the Nether, let alone floating around on its own. Since the post only shared a screenshot, it is hard to assess its credibility.
The screenshot shared shows the fireball almost dead center on the screen, seemingly floating in place. The original poster claims that they cannot interact with it and are unable to melee the object.
For those unaware, the dragon fireball is the Ender Dragon's most powerful ranged attack. Upon impact, the dragon fireball bursts into a purple cloud effect on the ground, causing a whopping three hearts of damage per second to any player standing in it.
Redditors react
Upon going through the post on r/Minecraft, Reddit users shared various reactions, mostly expressing confusion about how the fireball ended up in the Nether and sharing possible theories.
Here are some of the top comments from the Reddit post:
The comment by r/Otherversian-Elite clarified that it was a dragon fireball attack, which the Ender Dragon performs, and expressed curiosity about how it ended up in the Nether.
Another user pointed out that this isn't even the Minecraft Bedrock Edition, jokingly calling it "bugrock." Many players use this nickname, as this edition of the game is infamous for being the more buggy counterpart.
A user proposed a theory on how this might have happened. They believe that the Ender Dragon may have shot a fireball into the exit portal, which then traveled through the Nether portal and lost its velocity, causing it to hover in the Nether.
Although this scenario is far-fetched, it is possible if the portals were aligned by the player or someone else on a multiplayer server.
