Minecraft players discuss features that have lost their value in recent years

Minecraft has remained one of the most popular games for over 15 years, with one of the reasons being the constant updates the game receives to keep things fresh. But as is the case with nearly everything else, they get old and lose their value over the years. Many of Minecraft's features were exciting when they launched, but over the years, they have either gotten dated or useless.

A Minecraft player and Reddit user named brosain04 asked the game’s subreddit the same question with an emphasis on features that have become either useless or less important with the release of new updates. The replies to the post were quite interesting.

User Silveruchu said something about the woodland mansion that resonated very well with other members of the community, as it was one of the most upvoted comments in the discussion. They mentioned how the effort-to-reward ratio of finding a woodland mansion was not worth it as they are absurdly hard to find and yet they give nothing unique or worthwhile.

They added that the woodland mansion should get an overhaul too.

The original poster replied to their comment, saying that woodland mansions feel even worse when there are things such as raid farms. Since the mansions lack any interesting or loot that is unique, it is not worth the effort. This is even more true when one compares woodland mansions with the trial chambers.

User SirGavBelcher said they would love to see different types of ravines, some of which are extremely wide, with water falling, and some ancient structures like large buildings and temples showing signs of previous civilizations. While this might not be added anytime soon, many mods could offer something similar.

Another user named buddascrayon said that an ancient civilization spawning in a dried lake would look very cool. The city could have stone structures covered with moss aqueducts and temples. They added that jungle temples are boring structures, although if updated, they could be really interesting.

User -PepeArown- said that for a short period, they thought rabbit hide would be useful in making the upcoming feature called bundles. But the developers changed the recipe, and now, bundles use leather, which reduces the usefulness of rabbit hide.

Mojang Studios faces a challenging road ahead if they want to keep the game fresh for everyone. The developer will need to add new, interesting content to the game and update the old content to make it more relevant and useful. A great example of this is the latest snapshot released that improves minecarts, making it faster and more useful.

Hopefully, the developers will focus on the neglected aspects of the game in future updates and improve them.
