Minecraft players share their opinion on what are the best potions

Minecraft might seem like a simple game where players fight hostile mobs and collect resources to make weapons and tools. But that’s just the surface level of it. The game has many interesting mechanics and complicated systems that make the gameplay more challenging yet fun. One of these mechanics is making different potions that give players various effects (or damage based on how it is used.)

Many potions can be crafted, leaving one to question; which potion is the best of them all.

A Minecraft player and Reddit user, NvDishonest, shared an image of all the potions on the game's subreddit and asked the community to name their favorite one. Despite having many potions to choose from, a handful of them were repeated.

User YTBrimax commented that they only use three potions: Water Breathing, Night Vision, and Fire Resistance. They also said that Fire Resistance and Night Vision are the most useful, as one saves the player from getting burnt by lava and fire while the other aids in seeing in the dark without the need for torches.

Another user named contrarytothemass said that Night Vision has been their preferred choice since the Caves and Cliffs updates, and they can see diamond ores from miles away. The Caves and Cliffs update made caves and mountains larger and more complicated than before.

User Right_Gas2569 commented that their favorite potion is Fire Resistance, as it is also the most used. The reason behind this, the user mentioned, was that after the Nether update, there were many more reasons to visit the mostly lava dimension. They said that being immune to it makes it easier to undertake tasks, such as trading with piglins and mining netherite.

User kingkyvent noted that players can breathe under lava with the Fire Resistance potion, which makes no sense. They hinted that many things involving Minecraft logic make no sense, and this is one of them.

With the release of the Tricky Trials update, the mace weapon was added, making combat more challenging. The mace is a strong weapon, but its strength can only be utilized properly by a skilled player. This enhances the game's combat experience and makes Minecraft more fun. Meanwhile, fans are hoping that the next update will add something similar.
