Minecraft releases The Garden Awakens Winter drop update

The moment Minecraft players had been waiting for is finally over as Mojang Studios has released the long-awaited The Garden Awakens update. The Winter Drop introduces an exciting new overworld biome called the Pale Garden, and a scary new mob that will challenge players’ combat and creativity skills.

The Garden Awakens is the latest addition to Minecraft’s world-changing updates and it brings a fresh layer of mystery and horror to the game. The highlight of this update is the introduction of the Pale Garden biome, a uniquely eerie environment unlike anything seen before.

This biome feels almost otherworldly, with its muted tones, soft orange glows, and the presence of the threat that comes out at night.

The Creaking spawns at night and it can scare even the veterans of the game. With movement accompanied by unsettling creaks and groans, what makes it so interesting is that this mob does not take any damage from normal attacks, no matter what weapons are being used.

The only way to defeat the Creaking is by locating the Creaking Heart, the source of its power. However, finding the heart won’t be a walk in the park as players must keep maintaining eye contact with the Creaking, or else it will start attacking them.

Breaking the Creaking Heart will drop the resin block. These are a new resource introduced in this update. Found naturally in the Pale Garden, they can be used as building blocks. Resin blocks must be put inside a furnace to turn into resin bricks that have an orange glow. This resource fits very well with the Pale Oak wood block.

Another standout addition is the eyeblossom — a flower with petals that resemble the eyes of the Creaking. Aside from being visually striking, the flower has practical uses as well. It can be used to make orange or grey dye. During the day, the flower remains closed and gives grey dye. However, at night it opens up and can be used to obtain orange dye.
