Minecraft's 15th-anniversary celebrations continue with Mojang's latest free cape announcement

Minecraft has had one of its biggest and most exciting years with the celebration of its 15th anniversary. The grand event was a mix of great freebies, new content announcements, collaborations, and the release of the Tricky Trials update. But it seems the celebration is not over yet, and it's great news for fans. Mojang is collaborating with MC Championship’s Ender Cup event scheduled to be held on July 27, 2024, and it has a special cape for everyone to claim, for free.

Capes are one of the most special items in Minecraft. They cannot be crafted, and wearing them makes the player stand out. This is why Mojang gave out many capes during the 15th-anniversary event. From the TikTok cape, the Twitch Cape, and the coveted 15th-anniversary Creeper cape, capes were the official token of these special events and collaboration.

Moving forward, Mojang has decided to offer the MC Championship cape, which looks beautiful from every angle. Since only invited streamers can participate in the Ender Cup event, the Minecraft Championship Cape is a great way of keeping the audience more involved in the event.

To get the cape, players must do a series of challenges and even a form of treasure hunting by solving cryptic messages. Completing all these challenges will reward them with the item. Note that this is a limited-time event and the MC Championship cape cannot be obtained after August 4, 2024.

Apart from the cape, the MC Championship event keeps the celebration going by letting players take part in a range of mini-games that challenge different gameplay skills from running, jumping, shooting, and combat. Players can try out all the different mini-games and get coins as a reward for winning the games.

The coins can then be used at an in-game shop that has even more exciting items such as hats, toys, and even consumable items that give special effects, similar to potions.

These games and the challenges will be open to the public from July 22, 2024, at 10 AM PST/ 7 PM CET and last for two weeks. The four mini-games, Ace Race, Grid Runners, Sands of Time, and Meltdown, will also offer hidden challenges and collectibles. Since this is an online event, console players will sadly need a subscription to a service like Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, or Nintendo Switch Online to participate in the Minecraft 15th anniversary party event.
