Minecraft's Creaking could be the second mob players should simply avoid

In September, Mojang announced a brand new hostile mob for Minecraft called the Creaking. The creature, which would spawn in a new biome called Pale Garden, attacked players only when they were not looking toward it. On top of this, the mob cannot be killed directly with weapons. However, one striking detail about the Creaking is that it does not drop anything significant when it dies.

This particular detail connects the Creaking to the Warden who does not have any major drop loot either. Hence, the new creature could end up becoming the second mob that players should simply avoid.

How Minecraft's Creaking could become another mob to avoid

How Mojang made the Warden a mob that players avoid

When Mojang first introduced the Warden, they made its melee attacks extremely powerful. However, since the developers did not give it a ranged attack, players were easily able to tower up and kill it, despite its massive health bar.

With later updates before the official release, Mojang added a ranged attack to the Warden so that players could not simply tower up and kill it. This made the Deep Dark mob much more powerful, to the point where killing it became pointless.

The last nail in the coffin was the fact that the Warden only dropped the sculk catalyst upon death, a commonly found block. This essentially forced players to not take the fight to the Warden and simply avoid it, since it was useless and too dangerous to deal with.

How the Creaking could also have the same fate as the Warden

Similar to Warden, Mojang has developed the Creaking mob as a mob players should mostly avoid. As of now, the new mob can be quite tricky to kill in the new Pale Garden biome. This is because, alongside the Creaking, other hostile mobs will also attack players. Furthermore, when players find the Creaking's heart block inside a tree and destroy it, they will not receive any XP or loot.

The Creaking heart block itself does not have any major use, currently, and can only be detected using a redstone comparator.

Since the Creaking mainly serves as a scary creature in the woods, players might not be too keen on encountering it. They could simply avoid the new mob and loot the new pale oak wood set during the day.

Of course, it is worth mentioning that the Creaking and the Pale Garden are still in the development stage and Mojang could add more features to both to make them more useful. There are chances that, in the future, players will not be forced to avoid the spooky mob.
