Minecraft 1.21 update will soon bring loads of new features to the beloved sandbox title on June 13, 2024. The installment will have a new structure, several new blocks and items, and even two new mobs. One of the most exciting features of the update is the breeze mob, a brand-new type of mob inspired by the wind. Mojang Studios explained several unique abilities the mob will have, and also let players test it in snapshots.

Despite being new, the breeze mob inherits one specific ability that only the two boss mobs of the game possess.

Many players use bows and arrows as a basic ranged weapon whenever they play the game; some also use crossbows and tridents. While these projectile weapons deal decent damage towards regular hostile mobs, they are sometimes useless against boss mobs like Wither and Ender Dragon.

When the Ender Dragon perches down to the bedrock fountain in the middle of the main end island, it becomes immune to arrows and tridents, forcing players to get underneath it and attack it with a melee weapon.

Withers, on the other hand, have a special armor that appears around them whenever their health drops below 50%. This armor defends the beast against arrows and tridents. Hence, it forces players to use any melee weapon to give the final killing blow.

The new breeze mob from Minecraft 1.21 can also deflect several projectiles, much like the Ender Dragon and Wither. It is the first regular hostile mob to do so in the game. It is also worth mentioning that the breeze does not need to enter a particular state to deflect projectiles, unlike the two boss mobs.

Breeze mob has a whirlpool surrounding it that negates most projectiles like arrows, tridents, fire charges, and more. The only projectile that can hit the breeze is the new wind charge, which is also the mob's primary weapon. It also has another special ability that even Ender Dragon and Wither lack. As mentioned above, it can deflect projectiles with the same velocity and harm other entities and players.
