One of the most exciting parts of Minecraft's 15th-anniversary celebration was the three new capes introduced for players. Two of these capes are based on the Twitch and TikTok platforms and were originally released for Bedrock Edition only. The final is a generic 15th-anniversary cape. However, after a slight delay, Mojang has finally introduced the missing capes for Java Edition players.
This article dives into everything players need to know about these two capes coming to Java Edition, along with other useful information about the capes.

As previously mentioned, the TikTok and Twitch capes, referred to in-game as the Follower's and Purple Heart capes respectively, are finally coming to Java Edition. These two accessories are joining the generic green Minecraft creeper face anniversary cape on Java after a few weeks of delay.
You can check to see if the capes have been added to their account by logging into their Microsoft account on the official website and then navigating to the Java Edition Minecraft skin selector. The very bottom of this page has the list of capes associated with the account, which is where the Purple Heart and Follower's capes will appear.
How the capes are rolling out
If the commons on Reddit and other social media platforms are to be believed, the capes are not all releasing at the same time. It seems to be a slower rollout-style release. This makes sense, as it helps to avoid any strain on Mojang's servers. Players should keep an eye on their accounts via the official Minecraft website, refreshing every few hours to see if the capes have been added.
In the original announcement, Mojang stated that the capes would be available on Java by July 8, which is referenced by u/TreyLastname on Reddit. This means that they could still take up to nearly another week to show up in an account. If the capes are missing, try to be patient, as it should only be a matter of time.
Other major Java Edition capes
By far the most common cape to see on Java Edition is the Migrator cape. This cape was given to players who originally played the game before December 1, 2020, and then migrated their account to a Microsoft account. Another common cape to see is the Vanilla cape, which was given to players who bought both Java and Bedrock before June 6, 2022.
Another important subset of capes that Java Edition players might see while on any of Minecraft's best servers is the MINECON capes. There are five different capes for the years 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016, each with a distinct and unique design. These capes were given to players who attended these events over the years, making them quite a hot commodity in the community.
One of the rarest capes to see is probably the official Mojang Studios Cape. There have been three different cape designs for Mojang employees since 2010, with the most recent design being introduced in 2021. The cape features the "Mojangs" or "gizmos" that make up the official studio logo.
