After Minecraft's confirmation last month that an add-on focused on the beloved Tetris was in development, the puzzle-themed downloadable content has finally been made available. It can be accessed via the Bedrock Edition (for a price) and promises plenty of enjoyment to commemorate the legendary puzzle game's 40th anniversary this year.

With that in mind, it doesn't hurt to take a look at how you can download the Tetris add-on for Minecraft Bedrock and examine how it works concerning its gameplay features.

As previously noted, you can download the Tetris add-on for Minecraft Bedrock via the marketplace. This will require the use of your Microsoft account, and you'll either need to have purchased at least 990 Minecoins for your account or have a saved payment method to make a direct payment for this DLC.

Once you've met these requirements, you can download the add-on with these steps:

1. Run your copy of Minecraft Bedrock on your console, Windows 10/11 PC, or Android/iOS mobile device, and log in on the main menu if you haven't done so already.
2. Select the marketplace from the main menu.
3. The Tetris add-on will likely be on the front page of the marketplace for a time, but if it isn't, you can open the search field and enter "Tetris add-on" before pressing Enter. Then, open the resulting store page.
4. Click either the Minecoin button or the button showing a standard price in your local currency to purchase the Tetris add-on, which you should now be able to download and activate.
5. If you'd like to enable the add-on manually after downloading it, head to your Play menu and either create a new world or edit an existing one. Scroll down the left sidebar, tap "Behavior Packs," and click on the activate button next to the Tetris add-on under the "Available" category to the right of the world creation/edit window.

Once you've activated the Tetris add-on for Minecraft Bedrock, there's a lot to cover when it comes to new gameplay features. You'll be provided with the Tetris add-on guide item as soon as you spawn into your new or existing world.

The guide will give you tips and instructions on how the add-on operates with its Tetrimino blocks, craftable weapons, tools, and armor, as well as some other goodies to be aware of.

All of the unique items in this add-on are composed of resources called Mino Shards. They can be crafted by combining nine cobblestone blocks in a crafting table and can also be found as drops when killing mobs or when mining stone blocks.

By placing four Mino Shards in the top-center, left-center, right-center, and bottom-center crafting slots with a cobblestone block in the middle of a crafting table grid, you can create the Tetrimino generator.

Once you've placed this block and filled it with shards, Tetriminos of various colors/shapes will begin to fall from the sky. If you place these Tetriminos to create a line, you can clear them just like in Tetris.

Tetrimino blocks can be broken to collect more Mino Shards, which can also be used to craft tools like the Mino Pickaxe and other tools, weapons, blocks, and armor. However, be careful breaking Tetrimino blocks when you're defenseless. Breaking these blocks can occasionally cause Tetrimonsters to spawn that you'll need to battle or tame. Some Tetrimonsters can even be ridden.

All in all, the Tetris add-on guide will be your greatest ally as you forge your way into a Minecraft world littered with Tetris blocks, items, and themed mobs. Getting Mino Shards will get you started, but there's much more to explore beyond the basics.
