Minecraft has many in-game user interfaces (GUI) that players can interact with. These GUIs can either be of their inventory, a certain function of a block, or the pause menu. While the vanilla version has a light gray and gray tone in it's GUI, some players may want other colors or none; this may be the case with opacity as well. Thankfully, there is a resource pack specifically for making every single GUI transparent.
Here is everything to know about the Transparent GUI and heads-up display (HUD) resource pack for Minecraft.

As mentioned above, this texture pack helps players view the gameplay in action as all of the GUIs and HUDs become transparent. The GUIs are specifically made to allow users to view what's in front of them as well as where items should go.
For example, the hotbar section only shows the items but removes it's borders, the XP bar's empty area is not shown, and any block GUI only shows crafting or inventory slots and headings in dark color. Whenever players open a GUI, the rest of the FOV is clearly visible, but it is slightly dimmed.
How to download and install the Transparent GUI and HUD resource pack for Minecraft?
First, you need to download the resource pack from the web. This particular one is published on the CurseForge website and can be easily downloaded for the latest version of the game, which is currently 1.21.1.
Once it is downloaded, follow these steps:
- Install it by going into the in-game settings and finding the 'Resource Packs' tab.
- Select the 'Open Resource Packs' folder, which opens the folder that contains all of the resource packs that are currently installed.
- Here, you simply need to copy and paste the downloaded resource pack's .zip file. By doing this, the pack will be recognized and show up inside Minecraft as an option to activate.
- Return to the game and click on the disabled pack from the left column to move it to the right column, where it will become enabled.
Once this is done, you can open or create a new world and test whether the resource pack is working or not. Ensure that you download the resource pack that is compatible with the current version of Minecraft you are playing.
