Mojang Studios recently released a new Minecraft Java Edition snapshot 24w33a. This one adds and changes several features of the game that will officially be reflected in the 1.21.2 incremental update. Some of the tweaks were made to create a better parity between the Java and Bedrock Editions. Hence, the developers added two banner patterns that were previously Bedrock-exclusive.
For more than four years, banner patterns named field masoned and bordure indented were only present in one edition, but they will now soon be officially added to Java Edition with the 1.21.2 update. Here is everything to know about these Minecraft banner patterns.
Everything to know about Bedrock-exclusive banner patterns coming to Minecraft Java Edition
Field Masoned Banner Pattern
The field masoned banner pattern was first added to Bedrock Edition in 2019, with beta 1.10.0.3 for the 1.10 update. It was initially only available through a trade from a cartographer villager. However, in the 1.18.10 update, it was removed from the villager trades and made available as a regular item that can be crafted and used.

To craft a field masoned banner pattern, players will need one piece of paper and one block of brick. The latter can be made from nine bricks which can be created by smelting clay.
Once a field masoned banner pattern is made, it can be applied to a banner on the loom table using any dye. The pattern simply needs to be placed on a loom table with a banner and a dye.
Since the banner pattern is made of a block of brick, it has a brick-like design.
Bordure Indented Banner Pattern
The next Bedrock-exclusive banner pattern coming to Java Edition with the 1.21.2 update is the bordure indented. This item was also introduced in Bedrock Edition in 2019 with beta version 1.10.0.3. It was then officially added to the 1.10 update. Similar to the field masoned banner pattern, a bordure indented was only available through cartographer villagers. Later on, it was also removed from the villager trading list and was made craftable.
Bordure indented banner pattern can be crafted with one piece of paper and vines that players can obtain by shearing them from trees. Once crafted, the bordure indented banner pattern can be kept in the inventory as an item.
Once the banner pattern is made, it can be applied to a banner on the loom table using any dye, similar to every other banner pattern in Minecraft. The item simply needs to be placed on a loom table with a banner (blank or already designed) and a dye.
Since the bordure indented banner pattern is made of a vine, it gives a zig-zag design around a banner's borders.
