Minecraft leak suggests players could be getting a free cape soon

According to the Minecraft leak based on data mined by @SmokeyStack_ from the files in the latest 1.21.60.25 preview, players could be receiving a free cape in the coming future. The original poster, who is a popular Minecraft add-on creator and official partner, found a string of text in the files that stated the following:

"You did it. You're all signed in, which means you have a fancy new cape to show off"

According to the data mined, players will receive a free cape by simply signing into Minecraft with their official Microsoft account. Mojang encouraged players to migrate to the new account a while ago but many continued to enjoy the title without signing in. As an incentive to get players to sign in and use it, the developer could be offering this cape as a reward.

Capes are an integral part of the game's cosmetic offerings, ranging from the eyeblossom cape offered in the Minecraft Eerie Mojang Office Party to the controversial creeper cape that was supposed to be paid add-on but was ultimately scrapped. So it comes as no surprise that the developers would be using this cosmetic as an incentive to make players sign up with their Microsoft accounts.

However, Mojang has not given any official statement as to if or when this free reward could make its way to the game. Hence, players must wait for a teaser to confirm this Minecraft leak since the developers are known to hint at major updates through posts and related images.
