Minecraft releases Sonic Add-On for Bedrock Edition

Minecraft has teamed up with Sonic the Hedgehog to release a new add-on for Bedrock Edition. This collaboration brings together two global favorites, offering fans a chance to combine the fast-paced action of Sonic with the blocky sandbox of Minecraft. Developed by Gamemode One, this add-on lets players step into the shoes of iconic Sonic characters like Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, and Shadow.

The release comes at an ideal time, as Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is a box-office hit. Fans of both Minecraft and Sonic can now enjoy this high-speed crossover.

The Sonic add-on offers players the chance to experience high-speed adventures in the blocky world. You can run at the speed of sound, smash through blocks, collect Rings, and defeat mobs like they’re Badniks from the Sonic universe.

For creative players, the add-on also includes tools to build custom levels. You can add springs, spikes, dash panels, and other classic Sonic elements to your creations.

The add-on is available on Minecraft Marketplace for 1,340 Minecoins. Once purchased, players can enjoy all the features it offers. Minecraft has also released a trailer for the add-on on its official YouTube channel as well as a post on X.

This isn’t Gamemode One’s first collaboration with Sonic. The studio has developed two other Sonic-themed add-ons in the past. It's also known for work on the Avatar: Rites of Passage add-on.
