Mojang Studios recently released a new Minecraft Java Edition snapshot in which they introduced the new Creaking mob and the Pale Garden biome. Both these features were revealed in the company's annual live event. The Creaking has some interesting mechanics that make it almost invincible if attacked, but players can still destroy it by finding its source of energy.
However, there is one setting in Minecraft that will make it impossible for players to kill the Creaking, since one major bit of information gets hidden because of it.
How can killing Minecraft's Creaking mob become impossible due to one setting?

First, players need to understand how the new mob works and defends itself from player attacks. The Creaking spawns in the Pale Garden, which has a special relation with the new creature. The mob will not take any damage with regular melee or ranged attacks from any weapon whatsoever.
This is because its heart is actually a block buried deep inside one of the pale trees in the new biome. Whenever a Creaking takes damage, it will automatically connect to its heart and negate every attack. It can only be defeated when its heart-block is found and destroyed.
This makes the Creaking one of the most interesting mobs Mojang has ever released in Minecraft.
Which setting makes it impossible for players to kill Creaking?
When a Creaking takes damage, it will send particles of that damage to the heart and orange particles will return to him. This is how the Creaking mob cannot be killed with regular attacks. Minecraft has all kinds of different particle effects that can be tweaked in the video settings since rendering these particles can burden your device's resources.
The "Particles" setting has three options, one of which drastically reduces the particle effects. As of now, if it is set to "Minimal", the Creaking's particles will not be visible. Since the only way to find the mob's heart is by hitting it and tracing its particles to a tree trunk, it becomes impossible for players to defeat the creature if they cannot see the particles themselves.
It is worth mentioning that the Creaking mob is currently in the experimental stage and is only added to an early snapshot. There is a chance that Mojang would change Creaking's particle mechanics to make it visible regardless of the setting.
