Ranking all Minecraft game drops so far

Minecraft game drops are the new way Mojang pushes out updates for the bestselling sandbox game. These additions replace the previous annual update cycle and instead provide players with frequent updates throughout the year. This ensures players do not get bored waiting for new content and always have something to look forward to.

Mojang has already introduced four such updates and we shall rank all Minecraft game drops so far to see which one added to most value.

4) Bats and Pots

Minecraft game drops were anointed with the Bats and Pots update introduced by Minecraft back in 2023. The update primarily introduced decorated posts and greatly upgraded the existing look and behavior of the bat mobs, hence the name.

Apart from being a decorative piece of storage, the pots do not serve any other purpose. These pots could be crafted using bricks and pottery sherds, making it a fun project. Additionally, the bat isn't really the most popular mob so its upgrade was just a bonus rather than a major game-changing feature.

Armored Paws is a rather cool game drop that debuted in April 2024. The update introduced a host of mobs that were voted for in Minecraft Live 2023. It introduced armadillos, eight variants of wolves, and the wolf armor.

The update added to the list of ever-expanding mobs in Minecraft and players adored the adorable armadillo mob. Additionally, the armadillo can be brushed for scutes which can be used for making wolf armor. The wolf is one of the most popular pets so its ability to wear armor definitely adds some brownie points in the drop's favor.

2) Bundles of Bravery

Bundles of Bravery is one of the coolest Minecraft game drops introduced to the game this year. This major drop introduces bundles, which were teased in Minecraft Live 2020. Bundles are one of the most versatile storage items which allow you to store a mixed stack of up to 64 items but occupy only one inventory slot.

Additionally, you can stack bundles within bundles, allowing you to create a powerful farming and mining storage system that can be carried around. Additionally, the game drop introduced a new hardcore mode to Minecraft, allowing for more challenging gameplay. The versatility of the item paired with the new game mode makes this one of the best Minecraft game drops.

The Garden Awakens is set to become one of the most popular game drops to date. The extensive 1.21.4 update, which is set to be released on December 3, 2024, will introduce the much-awaited Pale Garden biome and a brand-new mob along with it — the creaking.

The creaking is a unique mob that cannot be attacked or damaged in any way. The only way to defeat it is by destroying its creaking heart. Additionally, the update also introduces new items such as the eyeblossom flower and the resin block. The eerie Pale Garden and its desaturated look have already made it one of the most popular biomes for horror fans.
