Enchanted golden apple is one of the strongest food items in Minecraft. As of now, it is well known that it cannot be crafted in survival mode by any means. However, it will be shocking for several new players to know that enchanted golden apples were once craftable in vanilla Minecraft. Hence, the question of whether they should be craftable once more has frequently been discussed in the community.
When we look at the current state of enchanted golden apples, an argument can be made that they should not be made craftable again. Here's why.

Reasons why Minecraft's enchanted golden apple should not be made craftable again
1) Enchanted golden apple is a much more common loot item
A few years ago, enchanted golden apples used to be extremely rare. They were most commonly found in Bastion Remnants in the Nether with a chance of 5.9% in the treasure chest only. Since treasure chests were the most difficult storage to reach in the Piglin-filled structure, enchanted golden apples became difficult to find.
After 2019, Mojang started focusing on updating the Overworld and added loads of new structures and biomes to the first realm. They expanded the caves and added structures like Ancient City and Trial Chambers with 1.19 and 1.21 updates, respectively.
These two structures made enchanted golden apples much more common than before. When Ancient City was added to Minecraft, each of its chests had a chance of 8.4% to have one or even two enchanted golden apples. Even though the new structure was one of the hardest to explore because of the terrifying Warden mob, it had loads of chests to open, which increased the chance of finding the overpowered food items.
When Trial Chambers released with 1.21 update, it made the enchanted golden apple even more common than ever. The new underground structure had a special ominous trial vault, which could be opened with an ominous trial key, obtained from ominous trial spawners. The ominous event that unlocks all these blocks and items needs to be activated by players once they enter a trial chamber with the bad omen effect on them.
The ominous trial vault has a whopping 22.5% chance of offering players the rare food item.
After all these updates, Mojang made another notable change in the enchanted golden apple category. Previously, the magical fruit was placed under the epic rarity category. Now, it has been downgraded to the rare category.
Since the enchanted golden apple can now be easily found in these new structures, there is not a pressing need for them to become craftable again.
2) The charm and excitement of finding enchanted golden apples will be lost
Apart from the real statistic that shows that enchanted golden apples are much more common now, an emotional aspect is also related to why they should not be craftable.
Finding rare items in Minecraft has always been exciting. Even veteran players are delighted to find rare resources like diamonds, ancient debris, enchanted golden apples, etc. Hence, if these rare items become craftable, the charm and excitement of finding them out of the blue will instantly go away.
Overall, it will slightly diminish the overall excitement and surprise factor from Minecraft.
