Mojang recently released the Minecraft 1.21.60.25 beta/preview version, introducing loads of new features that will come to the game with the upcoming drop. Since the developers did not release a beta version for quite some time, many were excited to check out what they had in store for the sandbox.
While most appreciated the new features and changes in the beta/preview version, there were some niggles that could affect players. Here are the good and the bad of the Minecraft 1.21.60.25 beta/preview version.
Positives and negatives of Minecraft 1.21.60.25 beta/preview
The good
Lodestone's new crafting recipe

In the beta/preview version, Mojang finally decided to make lodestone a lot easier to craft. Previously it required a netherite ingot to be crafted, which was a rare and expensive item. It has now been replaced by an iron ingot, making lodestone easily craftable.
With this change, there are strong chances that many players will start crafting the block in the future.
Falling leaves
Mojang added the falling leaves effect to every single Overworld tree in the upcoming game drop. This feature was initially tested in Cherry Grove and Pale Garden biomes, and will now be implemented throughout the Overworld. The falling leaves will match the color of the leaves of that particular tree and will massively enhance the ambiance of every biome.
New pig variants
With Minecraft 1.21.60.25 beta/preview, Mojang also added two new pig variants conveniently named: Warm and Cold. As their variant names suggest, the light-skin-colored pigs will spawn in cold biomes, and the brownish-orange pigs will spawn in warm biomes.
The original pink pig will spawn in temperate biomes and other areas that do not support the new variants.

Pale Gardens are more common
When Mojang released the Pale Garden biome with 1.21.50 The Garden Awakens drop, they made the new biome too rare, to a point where it was as rare as Mushroom Fields. However, this biome generates more frequently in the new beta/preview version, and they have also increased in size.
Nametagged Creaking does not despawn
When the Creaking was released with a 1.21.50 update, they instantly despawned during the day. This was changed in the latest beta/preview. Mojang made it possible to name-tag these creatures and keep them alive even during the day. If players want to test out the mob or keep it as a souvenir, they can do so by name-tagging it.
The bad
No wildflower and leaf litter yet
Though Mojang added most of the new features in the latest beta/preview version, they left out two, which they only added in Java Edition's latest snapshot 25w02a. These two features are leaf litter in several forest biomes and wildflowers in the Birch Forest.
Leaf litter and wildflowers are new half-blocks that will appear in most forest biomes from now on. They can be broken and obtained by any tool and can be placed in four different phases to fill up an entire block.
Of course, Mojang will soon be adding these to the Bedrock Edition in upcoming beta/preview versions. So, players will have to wait patiently before testing them out.
Zombie villager no longer spawns in zombie spawners
Previously, zombie villagers used to spawn with regular zombies from a zombie spawner. Players often farmed these villagers from spawners just to cure them for significant trade discounts.
However, the latest 1.21.60.25 beta/preview stopped zombie spawner blocks from spawning zombie villagers. This change was made after a bug report (MCPE-91436) was filed back in 2020 and will remove the chance to get a zombie villager from spawner XP farms.
