Four things Mojang got right with the Minecraft The Garden Awakens update

1) The Pale Garden

The Pale Garden is the highlight of the Minecraft The Garden Awakens update so it comes as no surprise that it is the first aspect being discussed. Mojang managed to set a perfect balance between exciting and spooky with the unique and desaturated ambiance of the upcoming biome.

Not only do you lose all color upon entering the biome, but the distinct lack of flora and fauna paired with the stillness apart from the eerie movement sounds of the creaking adds to the entire experience.

Additionally, any music or sounds that are playing in your world will gradually fade to nothing when you enter this ominous biome. This little attention to detail makes the Pale Garden one of the highlights of the upcoming Minecraft The Garden Awakens update.

2) Creaking mob

The creaking mob is perhaps one of the coolest hostile mobs to be introduced to Minecraft in recent times. The unique movement of this mob resembles the weeping angels from Doctor Who, so the creaking will stand still when you look at it. However, the moment you turn your back, the mob attacks you with great speed and deals devastating damage.

If that wasn't enough, Mojang decided to take things up a notch and make the creaking mob immune to any kind of damage. The only way to eliminate the mob is by destroying its creaking heart which is nestled in one of the many Pale Oak trees within the eerie biome. The eerie mob in the chilling ambiance makes it one of the coolest features of the Minecraft The Garden Awakens update.

3) Pale Oak

The Pale Oak has quickly become one of the most popular tree and wood blocks due to its unique white color. The deathly pale tone of the block makes it stand out in the darkness, making it the perfect blend of spooky and spectacular. So, it wasn't surprising when the gaming community fell in love with the block and it became a quick favorite.

The Pale oak wood introduced a unique set of related blocks like the pale oak doors, fences, slabs, and more — all of which featured the signature pale shade the tree is famous for. Additionally, the pale oak boats look stunning and have become one of the reasons why players will be looking for ways to find the Pale Garden biome in the Minecraft The Garden Awakens update.

4) New Items

The earliest snapshots of the Minecraft The Garden Awakens update had one primary complaint — the lack of items in the biome apart from the creaking mob and pale oak trees. Mojang listened to player feedback and introduced the eyeblossom and resin with the 24w44a snapshot.

The eyeblossom is one of the most versatile flowers in Minecraft that was introduced with the update. This is perhaps the only flower that gives you two variants based on the day/night cycle of its harvesting. Additionally, the flower is a great way to obtain two types of dye — making it one of the most resourceful additions to the ever-expanding list of flora in the game.

As for the resin, the unique orange color of the block made it an instant favorite among players. It is a handy block and can be refined to obtain additional items such as resin bricks, stairs, slabs, and more. Moreover, the resin can be used to craft a visually stunning armor trim that resembles lava, making it one of the best features of the Minecraft The Garden Awakens update.
