"THIS is so much better": Artist animates A Minecraft Movie trailer and fans are loving it

After years of anticipation, Minecraft players finally got a first official look at the upcoming movie based on the game. While everyone was confused about Warner Bros’ decision to make a live-action movie, people still had hope that they might come up with something interesting. However, almost everyone who has played the game was disappointed with the trailer. From the mobs to the characters, everything felt off and the clip just did not look good.

Now, players have taken matters into their own hands, with a fan-made recreation of the official Minecraft teaser. X user Alumio_ shared a fantastic animated recreation of the trailer, which has what fans of the game originally expected from the official teaser. The trailer has maintained the same look that Minecraft game trailers and promotional videos have, and nothing about it looks uncanny.

Reacting to the trailer, the X handle of the popular Facemoji Keyboard app commented:

"THIS is so much better"

But the compliments did not stop there. User Emmmyalluu emphatically expressed their appreciation by saying that this trailer is unironically a million times better than the original one and the animator did a great job making it.

It all goes to show how much people dislike the official look of the movie. Another user, Kaichokes, asked the OP to animate the entire movie.

User passchooo said that this trailer already is much better than the original one while user YangyYoung said that the original trailer is too sharp and realistic, making it look too flat and simple. They suggested that Warner Bros should have gone with the texture and visual style from Minecraft Story Mode or Minecraft Dungeons.

User named Wealary_V2 was also of the opinion that the original poster should now animate the entire movie in this style, Vox_Oculi exclaimed how unbelievably better this animation style looks over the original teaser's semi-realistic one.

Fans are upset with the Minecraft trailer

Saying that fans are not liking the recently released teaser trailer for the game would be a massive understatement. A lot of people are unable to figure out what exactly makes the trailer look bad, but that could be because so many factors equally contribute to the bizarre look.

For example, the oversaturated look of the world, the semi-realistic appearance of the mobs that do look nothing like the game, and most importantly, how bad Jack Black looks as Steve with his long beard and hair. Steve is supposed to have a goatee and short hair, which is completely different from how Black is shown in the trailer.
