"Time to make a particle accelerator": Minecraft's new improved and faster minecarts leave community surprised

Minecraft has not only been relevant but also extremely popular for more than 15 years. One of the reasons behind this success is the constant updates that make the game better. The recently released Tricky Trials update added some great things to the game, such as the breeze and the trial chambers, and yet, players wanted the developers to focus on the existing features and improve them. And it seems that it might finally be happening, starting with the minecart.

A Minecraft player and Reddit user, u/PALKIP, shared a short video clip on the game's subreddit, showing a new feature that might come to the game. With the release of the 24w33a Preview and Beta, the developers have made some interesting changes to the minecart. In the game's experimental version, minecarts are now the fastest way to travel, their speed going to a blisteringly fast 1,000 blocks per second.

The changes also allow minecarts to travel at an angle where the tracks end with a slope. As shown in the video, this allows players to make the perfect cannon.

Players have been asking for the minecart to be updated for years. The minecarts had been in somewhat of a limbo; they were too slow to be used for travel and it was better to use other ways of traveling, especially since players must set up a whole railroad infrastructure to make the minecarts useful.

But it seems that things are changing for the good. With the ability to tweak the speed of the minecarts, it can become the fastest way to travel in the game. These features are in experiment mode and the final release might be completely different, or the developers might completely ditch this idea. Let’s hope that does not happen.
