Minecraft's yearly Mob Vote event is polarizing among the community, particularly because only one of three mob candidates is chosen each year. While mobs that lose the vote have yet to be introduced to the game (though Mojang has stated it doesn't rule out the possibility), there are some that fell short in the mob vote that still deserves another chance to be added.

While the roster of Mob Vote losers is relatively small, it doesn't hurt to take a look at the Minecraft mobs introduced in the Mob Vote who didn't win but deserve a second chance at being added to Mojang's flagship sandbox game.

Here are the five Mob Vote losers that deserve a second chance in Minecraft

5) Iceologer

Although it fell short in Minecraft's 2020 Mob Vote, the iceologer did at least manage to be added to the Dungeons spin-off's Creeping Winter DLC. Even so, reintroducing this frosty magical mob could be a boon for the base game's colder biomes. Sure, cold biomes currently sport mobs like polar bears, but adding the Iceologer mob would be a compelling way to expand them.

Magic-oriented mobs in Minecraft typically prove to be pretty popular among fans, and the iceologer didn't lose by much in 2020, so perhaps it deserves a shot at redemption.

4) Rascal

The rascal had an intriguing gameplay design when it was announced during Minecraft Live 2021. It would roam and hide in underground areas below Y=0, leaving clues behind for players to find. If fans found the creature three times, it would reward them with loot before disappearing, which is an intriguing concept for an exploration-heavy game like Mojang's sandbox title.

But perhaps it isn't too late. Maybe if the rascal is reintroduced, fans might be willing to support it even more than they once did.

3) Crabs

Crabs were the first mob to be announced during the Minecraft Mob Vote in 2023, but they ultimately fell short in the popularity-based contest to the Armored Paws Update's armadillo mob. Still, the concept of the crab mob was an enticing one, including the ability to craft a tool from their claws to extend a player's building range. More features may have been in the works, but players never found out.

If the crab got another shot at being added to the game, fans could finally find out what other goodies Mojang had in store for this mob before it lost to the armadillo.

2) Tuff Golem

Introduced in the 2022 Mob Vote, the tuff golem was a statue-like mob that could hold items in their hands. They could also be activated to roam the environment while holding items players gave them or picking up items if they didn't have any, and their size even made them stackable! Unfortunately, the tuff golem lost out to the sniffer, and fans never got to see them in action outside of mods.

Two of the golems who appeared in the Mob Vote so far have been resoundingly popular, and if the copper golem can't come back, then the tuff golem might not be a bad addition.

1) Copper Golem

Minecraft fans clamored to add a copper golem mod into the game after its loss against the allay in 2021, but many fans still wish it was in the base game in general. The copper golem was intended to be introduced alongside copper buttons, which the mob would be drawn to and press, meaning it could have been an excellent little helper when it comes to redstone builds that utilize buttons.

More than likely any other Mob Vote contestant, fans have been discussing the copper golem and its potential uses for years. If Mojang wants to give another shot to one of the Mob Vote contenders, the copper golem should be at the top of the list.
