Minecraft is a game that has been around for more than 15 years and counting. Millions of players of all ages enjoy exploring its blocky world and all the interesting mobs and items in it. While the game looks simple and easy at first, parts of it are fairly complicated and can lead you into trouble if not handled properly.
With hostile mobs everywhere, the game can be quite punishing. That’s why every beginner should know some of these unspoken rules of the game before starting a world and a playthrough.

Owing to the vast nature of the game, there are numerous rules that you should know before starting out. But we have distilled the five most important ones that should not be ignored, beginning with the most important one, which is to prevent players from dying in Minecraft.
1) Never sleep in the Nether
Many players are unaware of this game mechanic but if you place a bed in the Nether and sleep on it, it explodes immediately, killing you. It does not matter even if you sleep in a completely protected Nether base; the game does not allow sleeping in the fiery dimension. So when starting out, keep the bed away from the Nether dimension.
2) Do not dig straight down
When looking for rare ores such as gold or diamonds, it makes sense to go as deep as possible. The easiest way to do so is by digging straight down. But this can soon take a horrible turn as digging straight down can lead you into a pool of lava or just a large cavern. Any block could be the last block you mine before finding nothing below you. So always dig in the stairway pattern for maximum safety.
3) Do not break dungeon spawners
Many players' first instinct when they find a dungeon mob spawner is to break it, but that is not the right thing to do. Mob spawners can be a great way of making XP farms in Minecraft without the need for building large and complicated structures. These XP farms can be great for leveling up in the game and getting high-level enchantments.
4) Do not make gold tools and weapons
Gold is a rare item in the game and has some great uses. But the one way it should never be used is by making tools and weapons with it. You can make armor, swords, pickaxes, and other tools using gold, but you shouldn't! Gold tools and weapons have nothing special to them and their durability is almost nothing. So, avoid using gold tools unless you have an emergency need for it.
5) Always keep a water bucket
Something as simple as a water bucket in Minecraft can be a lifesaver. Hence, always carry a bucket of water when exploring the world or mining underground. For instance, encountering lava can be fatal, but a bucket of water can save you instantly.
Or say you are somewhere high, such as a mountain, and fall due to a misstep. Well, the bucket of water can save your life there as well. You have to be quick enough to use it before touching the ground. Crafting a bucket is relatively cheap and takes just one inventory space, making it a must-have while exploring.
That covers the five most important rules that every Minecraft player should know before starting the game. These rules are also valid for the newly added regions such as the trial chambers as well.
